Speaking Activities & Using Technology to Develop Oracy in the MFL Classroom, MMU, 25th October 2013

I had a great morning talking to ITT trainees at Manchester Metropolitan University. As promised, here is a copy of the slides I used for the session. Do consider joining ALL and Twitter too to carry on with the (learning) conversation...

Hi, Isabelle! These are great speaking activities. I teach speaking to adult learners. I also love to use technology in my classes. Thanks for giving me alternatives to make my classes more engaging.

Thank you for these brilliant ideas Isabelle - I wish I could have heard a voice over for some of them to find out how they work - I never did play Battleships as a kid and so didn't ever use it. Still, enough in the slides to get me going again in my new post!!

This is an interesting read. I've seen numerous things used to help promote people learning languages in schools etc...

Thank you so much for your kind comments. Battleship is great for tense/ verb practice. You place your ships on a grid and your partner has to guess where they are placed by using coordinates. Instead of using A2, D6 etc... Just replace A B C etc... by je tu il elle nous vous ils elles and the numbers by verbs to be conjugated.
