Wordle: Word Inspiration

Wordle is a tool for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds highlight the words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can personalise your clouds by using different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The Word Clouds can be printed or saved to the Wordle gallery to share with others.

According to Wordle, this is what My Languages is all about...

I also think that wordle has a lot of potential to generate discussions and debates, as well as encourage creative writing. I am also planning to use it to present the aims and objectives of My Languages as a blogging project.

Any more ideas??

Funny, you would post this. I had come across Wordle on another blog http://blogveilleflorencemeichel.blogspot.com/
and created a task for my year 7 on the weather. So can be used well with IWB and for vocab learning.

It has been going around this week. I first spotted it through Diigo and then on Lisa's blog. It was also mentioned at the Edtech round-up.
Will check your blog for your weather idea... The more ideas the better!

I have just got my students to write a blog post in their sms txt talk. I then had to have a go at interpreting it, which then meant they had to check whether I was right.
Today I opened up wordle and got them to add many of the different sms words so that I could add it to my blog and challenge teachers in our school to decipher them. I love the word cloud that it creates. However, mine is like yours and is very small when it is embedded. I have seen other teachers put it into their blogs and it is three times the size. Do you have any clues as to how to make it bigger without doing a screen dump?

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog! I'm looking forward to reading through the rest of your blog and seeing what other resources you have been using!
